Installing Java 6 Update 17 Error 25099
Today I try to update my old Java version 6 update 13 to the latest one which is version 6 Update 17. I uninstalled the old version and start the latest version setup file, but I got the Error 25099: Unzipping core files failed.
I though I have somehow downloaded a corrupted setup file, I try to re-download the file again from Java web site. But same problem.

I search through my program files and found the Java folder is still there. I removed the folder. Tried again the setup file, but still same result. After sourcing around through the internet and found that we need to remove the Sun folder as well under the C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data folder.
Once both the directory deleted, the installation went smmothly without problem. Just like a clean install.
Conclusion, you need to delete both of this folder in order to solve your Error 25099 problem.
C:\Program Files\Java and C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\Sun
