Digi Internet – Amazing Broadband Speed!!
What a surprise from DiGi, today I went to Ikano Power center and saw a road show at the entrance hall. It is the new DiGi Internet, just like our normal Slowmyx, Izzi and P1 Wimax ISP. But the road show was a bit weird, normally DiGi road show should be in yellowish color and the yellow man, but not this time, it’s all white and girls promoter are wearing all white T-shirt and skirt. It’s like a new facelit from DiGi.
Then we check out their so call broadband speed. It seems that DiGi is offering a promo package which you can grab a HP Compaq laptop CQ40 for RM999!! (RRP RM2.399) Only 100 laptops are available. The specs for the laptop are quite good , it’s a Intel Pentium Dual Core processor T3400 at 2.16Ghz, 2GB memory and 320 HDD space. More than enough for your multimedia needs from a laptop. Check out the rest of the specs below.
Then we tested the internet speed. At first, we though that DiGi might be promoting their EDGE because of recent strong competitors from Maxis and Celcom’s 3G. But its not, its broadband that offer up to 7.2Mbps. We saw the USB modem
which is made from Huawei, it is just as small as our thumbs. We visit youtube.com and tested to stream the HD video (youtube has been promoting their HD video recently and the image is very clear, the video size can take up 80MB in size for a clear MTV), the result was fantastic! It didn’t took long before the video is played, only 1-3 secconds and you are watching HD quality videos in youtube. We tested and tested to stream other video content and it’s the same result, browse a few websites from Taiwan and US and all loads pretty fast! It’s like using an internet lease line in office!
Next we tested the speed at speedtest.net site. We connect to other test server from UK and the download speed tops at 2.3mb/s. The upload was around 300-400kbps. That was fast compare to my internet…
So hurry up if you want to subscrbe to DiGi Internet, they are having a road show at Ikano Power Center from 21st and 22nd Feb 2009. Only 100 laptops are up for grabs. Do note that there is a 12 months contract period for the package and monthly data limit of 10GB. If you exceed the limit, you still able to use the service but connection will be throttled to a lower speed. During the promotion period (21 February 2009 to 28 February 2009), customers will get special prize of RM128 for six month and RM158 for the 7th month onwards.
Visit DiGi Internet promotion for more details.
* I was too into the promotion and forgot to shoot some nice photos of the promoters…damn…anyone care to share? ![]()

I also applied and it is so awesome !!! pretty fast ! i terminated my existing broadband immediately after i get my digi broadband. I didnt see any page was lagging ! speedtest results – download 3302 KB! wow !
10GB Data transfer is rather decent when compared to the 3GB limit that maxis sets..
I guess is time for Digi to own this. Streamxy and Maxis sucks, how about the izzi…well, facing a extreme strong competitor.
Finally, high speed broadband appeared in Malaysia.
10GB, im wondering how throttle to the speed will be after exceeded it. 56K dail-up speed or worse…
[...] about it? Actually 2 things that I wanted to share with you, the missing road show pics from my previous post and I have subscribe to it [...]

Yup, we are pretty lucky as it says both our place no coverage, but lucky we didn’t miss the opportunity. A great thanks to the shorty..haha..

Yup, 10GB is quite sufficient for me as I need a consistent speed to view web pages and my blogs and a few downloads of course. They will throttle once exceends the 10GB to a slower speed, but at least we are still able to access the internet. How bout maxis?

Totally agree with you! great speed and no more headache 30mins to upload a 20-50k files now…ah~ our nightmare has gone..
And hopefully the throttle speed is sufficient for browsing needs.
I am using Celcom Broadband.
If I am not wrong the monthly data limit is only 5GB for Celcom. Digi with 10GB, a good offer!

Yup the monthly data limit is 10GB for DiGi, but within 1 week later, they called and offer it to 50GB instead. I’m a very satisfied customer
This is great news, I truly hope this brings competition to the monopolising you-know-who
that is why i never subscribe anything from celcom and streamy. they only good at imitation.
1 month from now they will lower their fees and up the speed. mark my words

Yup, competitions is good and hope to see more coming and hopefully our broadband will be what it meant to be…
