DiGi Broadband a must have!

Hi all, it’s been a busy monday and tuesday for me…and will be much more tiring during my weekend shift later.

Well you must be wondering why I’m having a second post for this DiGi broadband, what’s the fuss about it? Actually 2 things that I wanted to share with you, the missing road show pics from my previous post and I have subscribe to it too!!!

This is the DiGi roadshow on 21st and 22nd Feb 2009, seems like all promoters are dressed in white colors, only the balloons are yellow. And no yellow man around too…You can see there are 72 laptops left up for grab at that time.

Here is the place for those unlucky customers to leave their information if there is no coverage but interested in the DiGi broadband. You will be given a card for appreciation…then wait dunno how long for your area to have coveerage…haha…

This is the promotion laptop which cost RM999 if you sign up for the DiGi broadband. It is optional. As you see there is the DiGi broadband modem, USB type located at the right side.

The modem cost RM600, should you cancel your contract during the 12 months period, you either pay RM600 for the price of the modem or the remaining of your broadband subscribtion which ever is lower. The modem comes with a free 2GB scandisk memory card, which it’s inserted to the modem and act as a usb storage drive. Installation are straight forward, just click on next to set it up.

The modem led which you see now is sky blue, that means it is on broadband/HSPA mode. If you see a green light, then you are on EDGE connection.

This is the lucky promoter, me and my friends (total 3 of them) have sign up the package with her, and in return we didn’t get any discount haha…just kidding. She told us that she didn’t earn any commision from the sales, just a part time job. And she is Chindian too, speak chinese and hokkien!!

This is the payment and laptop collection place, and there is no customers! Feel like being con…but still after testing the broadband speed, it is irresistable! Oh ya, you may try the broadband for 7 days, if there is no coverage your money will be return. So if your place don’t have coverage and you bought the laptop at RM999, they won’t ask you to pay the balance of the laptop prize…hehe…you earn a laptop at RM999!

At the closing day around 9:45pm there are still around 30+ laptops available, so not sure if the promotion goes well for DiGi.

So why DiGi broadband is a must have? Check out the video below that I recorded:

The video that is playing is HQ quality, larger file size and better quality. If you see there is a lagging during the video playback, it is cause by the recording software from debut video capture software. You have to experience it your self…hehe..

This is the upload speed when I upload the video (size 21.1mb) to youtube.

This is the normal download speed without using any download managers. Microsoft are known as providing great bandwidth for downloading their updates but compare to my office line, the most speed I can get is around 300+KB/s.

BT download can go up to 423KB/s!! It is a bleach anime newest episode if you are wondering, means more seed and faster download speed.

So what you guys think? For RM128 (first  month and RM158 for the 7th month onwards) of this broadband speed, is it worth it? Maybe this is a pre-launch and not many users are using it yet. When more and more people using, the speed might reduce…but not sure how DiGi is going to manage it but don’t be like our Slowmyx now…

“Rediscover what BROADBAND should be”, their slogan really live up the promise.
